Second Philippines Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium

The National Consortium for the Small-Scale Fisheries Research and Development or Too Big To Ignore (TBTI) Philippines is calling for abstracts for the Second Philippines Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium (PSSFNS2) that will take place on 21-23 October 2025 in Marawi City.

The main theme of the symposium is ‘From Recognition to Action: Advancing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries in the Philippines.’  Some of the themes that will be discussed during the symposium include:

  • Inland and marine small-scale fisheries
  • Small-scale fisheries management and governance
  • Economics of small-scale fisheries
  • Socio-cultural aspects of small-scale fisheries
  • Climate change and resilience of small-scale fisheries
  • Gender in small-scale fisheries
  • Technology and innovation in small-scale fisheries
  • Arts and small-scale fisheries

PSSFNS2 aims to explore actionable insights, ideas, and policies relevant to advancing sustainable small-scale fisheries in the Philippines through various platforms of discussions and presentations.
