Within the umbrella of TBTI Global, the National University of Colombia – San Andrés Campus, the University of Magdalena, and York University (Canada) are jointly leading the TBTI Hub Colombia.This initiative aims to consolidate a network of researchers, communities, and key stakeholders who support artisanal fisheries in Colombia, contributing to strengthening food security, social well-being, and ecosystem health.It also seeks to develop strategies that promote the protection and visibility of artisanal fisheries within national policies and development plans.
In this context, a hybrid workshop will be held on December 4 and 5 at the University of Magdalena (Santa Marta), where the TBTI Hub Colombia will be officially launched. This internation forum will be a valuable opportunity for dialogue, the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and the coordination of efforts among diverse national and international stakeholders involved in artisanal fishing.
Approximately 60 participants are expected to attend, including national researchers, leaders of fishing communities, and representatives of the TBTI Global.
