We are inviting submissions for an upcoming e-book focused on small-scale fisheries in Colombia, which will be published in the TBTI Global Publication Series. This e-book is supported by SIANI as part of the Expert Group on Small-Scale Fisheries in Latin America.
About the book
At TBTI Colombia hub, we are aware of the diversity of knowledge we have in Colombia regarding small-scale fishing as a way of life. Therefore, we would like to invite you to be part of the e-book “Small-Scale Fisheries in Colombia: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainability” (preliminary title).
This e-book will be an opportunity for all of us who work to protect small-scale fisheries as an essential part of our country, from the territories and from the institutions, to recognize each other. The e-book aims to be a collective product from the perspectives of the diverse actors involved in small-scale fisheries, in order to highlight trends in research and/or lessons learned from small-scale fisheries’ territorial processes, both past and present, and thus envision those lines of research and/or urgent processes for the future, based on a dialogue of knowledge between the different areas of expertise that have built small-scale fisheries in the country.
We are interested in answering questions such as: How have we progressed? Where have we not focused our efforts? What challenges do the small-scale fisheries face and how can we all contribute? How can we envision a future based on the knowledge we all generate so that the small-scale fisheries continue to provide benefits to all of us?
